Years ago I was a member of the Microsoft Small Business Council, a group of eight authors and business owners chosen to put a face on Microsoft’s small business efforts. For the announcement Microsoft flew us all to Redmond where we met its marketing team and got a look inside the headquarters. It was fascinating to see the halls of such power. Since then, I’ve been particularly interested in the culture of the big software and hardware companies.
If you are similarly inclined, you can’t have missed the story of the planning, design, and construction of what is now known as Apple Park—the new 2.8 million square foot headquarters Apple has been building on 175 acres in Cupertino, California.
I while back, I read that, “Apple Park, the campus is now ready to be occupied in April. The process of moving more than 12,000 people will take over six months, and construction of the buildings and parklands is scheduled to continue through the summer.”
